Rubens: Decrypted

at the Royal Academy of Arts

A bespoke gig exploring themes of diplomacy and espionage in pop music

The Coveryard were invited by the Royal Academy of Arts to create a programme of live music for their Rubens: Decrypted event.

Part of the AttRAct Late series aimed at 16–25 year olds, the event accompanied the RA's 'Rubens and His Legacy' exhibition, focusing on the famous artist's secret life as a diplomat and spy.

Our performance combined a set of 17th-century choral music with newly arranged pop covers inspired by the exhibition.

The Coveryard Performed at the Royal Academy of Arts, London, on 21st July 2012

Arrangers: James Andrewes, Thom Andrewes, Matt Huxley & sarah Latto
